DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with expertise in AWS and on-premise server administration to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will excel in deploying, managing, and improving both cloud and on-premise infrastructure, and possess a solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices. The DevOps Engineer is instrumental in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure solutions to support our software development and deployment processes. Responsibilities include identifying the root causes of issues, automating solutions to support development efforts, and managing day to day activities when called upon.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Implement and optimize scalable, high-performance architectures for PHP and Python based applications.
• Provide subject matter expertise for ongoing support and enhancement of virtualization software like VMware and Proxmox.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and ensure smooth deployment processes.
• Resolve complex support issues.
• Assist development staff in debugging environment issues.
• Create procedural and troubleshooting documentation related to supported applications.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Set up monitoring solutions to track system performance, application performance, and infrastructure health.
• Configure and manage log aggregation systems for centralized logging.
• Implement security best practices for cloud environments.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Document infrastructure, processes, and configurations to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and best practices.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Experience with configuration-as-code principles, technologies, and development.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Hands-on experience with containerization tools (Docker).
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools.
• Solid understanding of security principles in cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Have a thorough understanding of Cloud Native applications running on Lambda within AWS as well as applications running in Apache or Nginx.
• Ability to learn new technologies as needed.
• AWS certifications are a plus.
